New Agents Should Look for Good Companies -- Ethically Good Companies |
Despite all the talk and coverage of the current real estate downturn, people are still coming into the real estate business. In California -- a state that is right up there among the leaders in foreclosures, slipping sales, and declining prices -- there are approximately 22,000 more real estate licensees (at 548,000) than there were at this time one year ago. The California Department of Real Estate is issuing almost 2,000 new licenses every month. (To be sure, the rate of increase has declined. In February of 2008 the department administered 2,663 license exams; one year ago the number was 8,500.)
